EDUKASI DAN PEMERIKSAAN MATA PADA SISWA ASAK DI SMA KOLESE KANISIUS JAKARTA

Abstract

As an implementation of the tri darma of higher education. ARO Gapopin (Akademi Refraksi Optisi dan Optometry) and Asak (Ayo Sekolah - Ayo Kuliah) carried out Community Service at SMA Kolese Kanisius Jakarta. This activity has the aim of providing education and eye examinations to ASAK students and introducing the optometry profession to ASAK students. The method used in delivering education and promotion with a presentation from one of the PkM team from ARO Gapopin with lecture, question and answer, and discussion methods.  Furthermore, an eye examination was carried out on 68 participants, consisting of students, parents and the ASAK committee using an auto refracto tool and an objective examination was carried out. The next step is subjective examination, namely anamnesis and examination of visus or sharp vision with Snellen Chart to ASAK participants.  From the results of education about eye health and introduction to the optometry profession, it was obtained that most students had begun to understand the importance of maintaining eye health and knowing job opportunities as optometrists. The Gapopin ARO team will conduct an evaluation every minimum of 1 year by involving the role of parents, students and ASAK administrators in it.
