MENJAGA KESEHATAN MATA MASYARAKAT DI YAYASAN PENDIDIKAN AMAGI INDONESIA (YPAI) TANGERANG SELATAN

Abstract

The background of this activity is in the context of Service to the Community, Nation and, State as a form of implementation of the tri dharma of higher education. The purpose of this activity is specifically to provide education/ counseling about the dangers of excessive use of gadgets and the importance of maintaining eye health then continued with eye examinations to the community as a form of care for people in need. The method used in this activity is to provide questioners, counseling, questions and answers and, direct eye examinations by the PKM ARO GAPOPIN (Academy of Optician Refraction and Optometry) Gapopin Jakarta team for people living around the Amagi Indonesia Education Foundation (YPAI) with 125 participants, consisting of children aged 10 - 17 years as many as 20 children, adolescents 18 - 35 years as many as 60 adolescents, adults 37 - 50 years as many as 30 people and parents aged 55 - 65 years as many as 10 people, eye examinations are carried out objectively and subjectively. Of the 125 participants examined in this activity, 100 of them were detected with refractive errors and received free glasses from ARO (Academy of Refractive Optics and Optometry) Gapopin Jakarta. From the results of education/counseling and answers to questionnaires from participants who were given about maintaining eye health in the digital era, the general result was that as many as 100% of the community/participants as many as 125 participants who took part in eye examinations at the Amagi Indonesia Education Foundation (YPAI) did not understand the negative impact of excessive use of gadgets, from these conditions, the PKM team from the Academy of Optician Refraction and Optometry Gapopin conducted periodic evaluations within 1-2 times a year involving all components of the community living around the Amagi Indonesia Education Foundation (YPAI).
